The advent of universal charging would be amazing but there would be a cost to obtaining this luxury.

When I say universal charging I mean all devices around the world using the same method of charging. This would be USB c for phones or a specific type of charger for laptops and desktops. This seems like an amazing idea but there are many things that need to be considered with this. If this idea were to be implemented it would end up wasting a lot of resources. Some of the resources wasted would be the chargers themselves that become useless. If everyone adapts to USB c then all lightning chargers will become useless. Other than the charger the manufacturing would also be disrupted as all lightning cable factories would have to be turned into USB c facilities. This would take a lot of time and resources for many people. People will also be opposed to universal charging as they may not see the point. One person can buy their own charger and another person can borrow another. The reason for universal being good is that people will be able to receive charging for their devices at almost any place as the places themselves will provide charging.

Universal charging would certainly be beneficial but in the beginning there will be costs.
