Accomplishments

When people accomplish something that is very hard I find it very interesting. I know how hard it is to do certain things but others I don’t know how to do. Because of this I can’t easily gauge how hard or easy something might be. For example, I would believe that someone solving a Rubix cube in 30 seconds is amazing and may even be a world record, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Similar to this example, when someone accomplishes something hard there is no easy way for me to know by myself. I may be educated in some subjects and know how hard they are but for the vast majority I am uneducated. For this reason I believe that best gauge of how high someone’s accomplishments are in a community are how people in the same community view that accomplishments as hard or easy.

Something that others do that sparks admiration in me is when they are recognized by their community. Their actions themselves can only be judged by the community and for this reason the communities admiration of someone leads to my admiration. I will admire someone if many other people also acknowledge them because this means that they must have put in a lot of effort to reach whatever outcome they achieved.
