The word playtime means very different things as you grow up. When you are a toddler playtime is just you crawling around and grabbing onto your toys. As you become a kid playtime might mean something more meaningful like playing a game or playing with some toys. From that point onwards playtime means more deviating from what you normally are doing to something you do when you have the time to do it. For example, a toddler might be having playtime almost always but a child might only get a few hours every day because they have to go to school.

To me, playtime means spending time playing or doing something with my friends. I would still consider it playing if I were to do whatever I was doing alone just as playing video games, but it doesn’t feel as authentic or as fun without other people. That’s why I think that playing with friends says playtime to me the most.
