Practice Drill

Today during my school I had a practice ALICE drill during an off period for me.

ALICE drills are normal lockdown drills for all schools in at-least Illinois that have to be done. These drills are lockdown drills where the school will suddenly announce that there is an intruder in the building and you need to find safety. Most of the time it is a drill and they will say this. I have never had a real ALICE lockdown other than once in fifth grade where the intruder wasn’t even in the building but just a suspicious person in the area. When I was in school I had an off period and had just went to the communal working area called in2 to get some of my homework done. I sat down and worked for a few minutes until suddenly on the intercom there was a loud announcement about an ALICE drill taking place. Nothing extreme happened as everybody in in2 went into a classroom which I hadn’t been in before and stayed there until the drill was over. We were all supposed to practice hiding from the intruder but since it was a drill people didn’t take is seriously.

Nothing very interesting happened today but that drill was out of the ordinary so it seemed more interesting compared to the other things that were happening.
